Download problem

Hi,

I have downloaded the latest gamma from Drengin. I have problem with starting a game. I do not know if there is some corrupted file from download or what.

Is there any other way than download whole stuff again?

Talking about dowloads...can i dowload this beta version (or whatever you call this 5C or something) or is it just for selected few ppl who simply qualified for testing the game before it comes out...

I know its a silly question but i though i would ask anyway...

The betas was open to download for people that preordered the game. But it's closed now, since the beta-period is over. GalCiv is released next month.

I had the same sort of problem and i wiped it all out and started over. It's probably the best way to do it.


did you try to load an old game? that could crash it.

No, I cannot even get to starting menu... It simply does not start...

Hm, I have 64k fix line... So, I will wipe out all and start from beginning... Owww...

I had a problem with the Multimedia installing. It downloaded but failed the installation at about 42%.
I then uninstalled with Drengin so I wouldn't lose the
download, and tried reinstalling with stardock and it still failed. The working method was uninstalling with stardock and then reinstalling. So I downloaded 325 Meg twice! Thank God for DSL! :o) Had no problems with the actual game files updating.
New Intro Animation and Pre-game start anim was very cool. Worked fairly smooth even on this clunker!
Oh, what exactly is "Background Loading"? I turned it on for my first game and so far it appears to work as before. Was that the default in prior versions?
