Neutral Zone

hi, is there any chance of putting in a dynamic neutra zone,
as i can't play this game because even my allied players keep building starbases in my sectors, and above my planets,

this in my eyes would be considered a act of war,

it would be a bit like United Kingdom parking a battlecruiser directly of USA coastal line with out permission, this act alone could possibly be interpreted as a act of war,

because i like time to build up my forfces, but within 4-8 turns i have my own allied people building space stations above my planets, to try and take over my planets, this is wrong, and so unrealistic,

this is why in star trek there was a neutral zone that changed accordingly, and all sides had to respect this boundry or a war would occur,

i for one don't like having a space station, which by the way has great fire power defensive and offensive capabilities which is military in my terriorty, on earth terriotry has to be respected, or wars break out,

i find my self having to go to war with my own allies because there building space stations above my planets, even through diplomacy i can tell them to get there fuc*** ships and space stations out of my sectors, and likewise i would ecspect them to say the same to me if the boot was on the other foot,

i had to stop playing this game because of this fact alone, i don't like people invading my terriotry, but there is no way to stop them from doing that in this game with out going to war, and going to war with one's allies is not the ideal sollution,

a easy way to program this would be to have sector based terriotries, and like civilization 4, diplomacy would be the only way to ask if vesals can enter another opponents space, but not start building space stations above there planets, maybe have a 3 mile zone around one's planets that one has to respect or a war will occure automatically,

i just don't like the idea how planets don't seems to be bothered when other aliens start building space stations above there home,

lets say there were aliens on mars, and we were allied with them, how would we like it if they started to build military bases space stations around earth,

i for one would get very nervous, and very anxious, and i know that earth would say get that out of our earth terriotry or we will launch missiles and blow the fuc**** thing out of our terriotry,

sorry to go on, but i don't feel that there is any terriotry bases protocals in this game at all, yet in other games (many other games) there is,

hope this post has a affect, because i stopped playing this game only after 2 days because of this lack of appreciation concerning terriotry, it's like i'm stuck in catch 22, meaning to get there space station out of my planets area i have to go to war with them, which i was doing every time, i don't like being invaded, by enemey or by friend,

the old saying is, keep your enemy close, but keep your friend closer, but i didn't ecspect this to ba tacken litrally in this game, space stations around each other's planets would cause wars in real life, i just can't buy into this game because of this 1 major drawback,

but other than that a brilliant game, i've got no other complaints at all,

i just hope that if USA ever parked 2 battle cruisers of englands coast line, that england would respond with aggression and not just say, that's ok, we don't mind, carry on.

England have always rolled over. During the cold war USA kept NUKES in England, and no-one gave a damn.

No, there will not be neutral zones, since it's all open space. However, I highly recommend you keep playing, as the AI has come on in leaps and bounds.

Huh? the US regularly parks ships outside of England and vice-versa.

Actually, the old saying is "keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer".
You keep your enemies close so you know what they are up to.

Getting to the post, I would LOVE to kick the AI out of my territory. People say it's the "sphere of influence" but I want to say to the AI "HEY! I build MY starbases in YOUR territroy and you get mad! but I can't say a damn thing to you!"

programming is never easy

but i do agree that there should be an option in the diplo screen. would be fun to harass the AI every now and then

Dude I totally agree with you, it's kind of dumb when you to keep warmongering dickheads from ravaging your civilization, while apparently your territory is free space where everyone else can come over and shit all over it, and then if you have a 5 year old piece of shit fighter with a particle beam ducktaped to the side in the middle of your territory that can hardly move a parasec they say " oh f!*k he's got a little piece of shit in the orbit of his planet, time to declare war even though we've got a massive invasion fleet, and starbases lined with guns outside his homeworld!" What the HELL forced you to think that was a good idea! How would you like it if I just walked over to you house and shit all over your house?!

Thats why i hardly ally with any one..and i build specialist ships with good engines and weapons to hunt and destroy enemy constructors the moment they cross into my sphere of influence...my turf mine alone.

Mind you there is a United planets thingy that says that allied races gain the same benefits from thier allies starbase's. The chances of that coming up are quite slim though. Otherwise i agree.

I hope you guys are not talking about a single influence or economy star base. Usually, the AI will build a single one without upgrades in your sphere of influence to extend the range of their ships (like when they need to reach an enemy that's on the opposite side of you, for example). I don't worry about influence star bases unless they begin adding more modules.

Azrune: this is a family oriented forum. Please refrain from the obscenities and profanity. Thanks.

Regarding the post: there is a way to keep your zone of influence free of unwanted starbases--simply destroy them. Of course, that will have repercussions in that a war will ensue. But perhaps it will be a "phony" war and you can make peace within a short period of time.

Perhaps a better idea is to beef up the diplomacy aspects (which I believe is to be done in DA) so that you can demand a civ to dismantle offending bases in your sphere of influence. Then if they refuse you can (1) try to buy them, or (2) destroy them.

Personally I only worry about military starbases within my zone of influence and influence starbases if it appears an opponent is trying to flip one of my colonies.

It'd be nice, as allies undermining you can be highly vexxing.
