The UI Trade Menu Fix of the Century!!

Hey Gal Civ Devs.... great game great effort.... but please please consider:

It is very very hard to give away or trade specific ships via the current Trading UI. This is due to the very signficant record keeping of each ship required and sheer amount ships invovled at times. I end up avoiding doing this due to time it takes to keep track of it all, which can be a serious compromise of the game design.

Why not allow the player to flag ships of note from the main map, and allow the player to simply donate these ships to other races with a quickly accessed small little dialoug box/menu as a hot button pop up integrated into the main map UI..... that would be a small moveable dialoug item that allows viewing and work on the main map.

One could also have these ships flagged and placed at the top of the list of one's total list of ships when in the tade screen. You could even design it such that a player can flag a group from the various fleets and planets, and give it a name, which will appear as such in the player list of ships in the trade menu. (Group 1 ship ship ship ect..... end group 1 then remaining list of player ships......)

This way we could easily see where and what ships we want to give away or trade to AI races without the game killing paperwork!!

As well one could flag AI planets/ships and star bases using this functionality for trade engociations, such that once one is in the main trade UI key items are easily noted and again avoiding paper work..... so you could go shopping for ships at the Drengens ports.... flag a bunch of ships, which would appear in the Drengin ship roster as noted, again grouped with a name provided by the player.

Just a thought

onward!!

If I have a ship that I want to sell, or a ship of theirs that I want to purchase, then I rename them on the main map, before going into the trade. It is then easy to locate a ship called "gift".

*slaps forhead* Thanks for the idea AW, that has been driving me nuts for some time and your idea is both simple and quite easy to put into place. Saved me a heck of frustration.

I suggest renaming them "AAA Gift," as this puts them at the top of the list.

(Wait, do numbers go higher in the list than letters? Maybe "000 Gift" would work, those being zeros rather than o's.)

Well the naming solutions you guys have suggested are still cumbersom....

Thnks fer the ideas...

I sure hope the Devs read my post and put a fix in for us on this ...

It would also be nice to have the ability to trade entire fleets. Late in the game, I have a lot of lower-level fleets that I don't need, and I would love to be able to give them away to a minor race or something. So, I can trade Fleet XYZ instead of Defender A, Defender B, etc. If that is already available, ignore my stupidity and please point me in the right direction to accomplish that task.

I would like to see it where the other civ gives you a range of items that it might be willing to trade in return for what I am offering.

Twelvefield Offers for Trade:
1 Case(s) of Beer

Emperor Flerndip considers the offer and suggests that an equal trade might include one of the following:

100 BC
Jimson Saddle
Bindleroller III
Box of Zero-G Porno (Betamax)

--OR--

Emperor Flerndip is pleased that you are taking such an interest in his Jimson Saddle technology. He would like Twelvefield to cough up any two of:

Bindleroller IV
250 BC
2 Case(s) of American Beer
Box of Zero-G Porno (Blu-Ray)

They could color code techs and ships and planets as green or red. Green ones would keep the deal acceptable if added.
