Cannot Modify a Core Ship Design

Whenever I design a new ship, and go to hit the save button.. a message reading "Cannot Modify a Core Ship Design" pops up, disallowing me from making my ship! I don't think I'm modifying anything as I hit the "New" button in the Shipyard *sigh*. Am I missing something stupidly simple?

What's the name you're saving it as? You can only have one ship type with each name - if you're trying to name your new ship the same as a core model then it will not let you.

I've changed the name every time.

It only does that when you try to use a core ship's name.

For example, you can't simply make a new faster constructor and call it "constructor" since that's the same name as the standard ship.

Easy solution, put a - in front of the name like "-constructor". You can use the name you want and it puts it at the top of all the lists.
