enemy starbase near. how to negotiate?

Hi,

some emeny AI nation built up an influence starbase right besides a cluster of my planets.
If i do this to the AI it will request sooner or later to remove that starbase.
How can i request this to the AI as well ?
I do not want to trade the starbase, i want to request him to remove it, actually just to have the same option like the ai.

I don't think you can demand things like that at the moment, although I would like to see this feature added.

Build up your military to about twice his strength, then blow up any starbases you don't want around, then offer a peace treaty.

Can't be done. Destroy it.

Well, if you don't want to go to war, you can always try to buy it from them. If that fails, you only have one option.

I have had some success with trading for the starbase. Specifically I build an equivalent starbase in the other civ's territory and then swap starbases. Sometimes we have to throw other things into the deal to sweeten the pot. I find that the ai seems reluctant to release influencers when it finds your own civ's influence alarming.

thanks for the tips to get some work around done with the enemy starbase.

i am quite surprised to not find such option in gc2, as things like this were already present in the diplomatic options of moo2, nearly 10 years ago. (remove fleet from orbit, stop spying, and such if i remember right)

so for the expansion this would be definately a good improvement, as it expands the interaction possibilities with the ai.

- remove starbase
- remove fleet (the gc2 AI tells me "we know what you are doing.." when i have heavy fleet activity around their planets, but i can not tell him to remove his ships when i see him with several fleets around my planets
- possible something else.. ?
