Offline update and sig.bin

Just a little question. I haven't a connection at home, only at work. When I updated to 1.2 I got a sig.bin by e.mail. My q. is: can I use the same activation file after the installation of the next update or there's the need for another one?

Many tnxs for any reply.

In theory, you need to activate the produce only once: the sig.bin file shoudln't be deleted by the next update.

BTW, the sig.bin file contains informations related to your computer. So you may need to get a new one if you upgrade your computer.

I've a similar Q. I'm the same as danilo1956 in that I have no net access at home, only at work. I downloaded the 1.2 .exe, ran it. Now whenever I try to open GCII the programme tries to email Stardoc or connect to Stardock. So I can't play.

Needless to say this is disapointing.

Well, you should look at at post #1 in the following thread https://forums.galciv2.com/?forumid=274&aid=105705. It will explain how to get the sig.bin file allowing you to play.

Needless to say this is disapointing.

I guess there should be a clear warning that the update requires a one-time activation.

So, if I correctly understood, when I'll take the 1.3 I'll be ready to play using my previously obtained sig.bin (correct me if i'm going wrong).
That's a very good news!! )

Many tnxs for the replies to all.

Well, this is my own experience.
When I tried to play without activation bin, I got a activation request and as I haven't web connection at home I was requested to fill a e.mail request with a valid e.mail address and the s/n of my galciv2 game, then obtained a alphanumeric string that I sent to stardok. In a couple of breaths I obtained a zipped file containing the sig.bin ... done.

Hope this can help you

That what I have understood too. Unless the upgrade to 1.3 delete the sig.bin file.
