Secret Tech?

I just played a game in which I had the highest technology save for a few of the lower levels that i was able to skip via tech trading..... Near the end of the game a UN vote came up saying we should trade techs to enable the universal to grow that much quicker with everyone equal. I voted yes and got two techs that I had never seen before nor could i find them in the tech tree. Both gave me additional Defense bonuses...i believe both were 5%. One was called Dynamic shielding or something to that effect...anyone seent his before?

yes both of those techs are techs recieved for being "good" after xeno ethics

The good get extra defence techs and The Evil get extra weapon techs, i can't remember what neutral get

Evil get the second nastiest missile and beam weapons in the game that I know off good get defences and neutral get neutral shipping which gives more trade routes and neutrality learning centres as well as the temple of the alignments and a few other planetary improvements I cant recall at this point

The neutral get the best extras! They get extra trade routes, all their planets get instantly teraformed (no need to research and build "Soil Enchancement", etc.), they can build "The Temple of the Alignments" which provides a morale bonus, and best of all they can build Neutrality Learning Centers. Each NLC outputs 22 units of research (more than any other building) and is available before "Invention Matrix"!
