My debug.err

Alright, so I've had this game for a week or so, and have gotten it to run ONCE. I have no idea why it decided to run last night, but it did. Before and since, tho, I haven't been able to make it run.

So I get all the way to the "Loading..." screen, and then suddenly my machine restarts. No blue screen o' death or anything-- just a reboot.

Below is the paste of my debug.err file. I'm only running XP SP1 because of a recent formatting, but will be upgrading to SP2 post haste.

Is there anything else I've missed...?

Thanx

Xae.

Both your video and audio drivers are 3 years old.
Way out of date.

You can see in the debug a refresh rate of 0 - so it is probably those oh so old drivers.

It might also work better if you ran it full screen, instead of windowed.

Although, a system crash of that nature could also be a hardware problem.
Try updating the drivers first.

You should probably run Windows Update as well, while you are at it.

Keep it windowed, that'll help with a card that old. If it fails to load after the drivers are updated, then reset the prefs.ini file. You WILL NOT get this game playable without drivers at least 2004, 2005 preferable.

Double the page file too.

BSODs and autoreboots are generally a symptom of hardware/driver issues. You might want to try disabling auto-reboot in system properties if it is enabled, which may net you a BSOD on next crash that you can use to troubleshoot the problem.

Might want to follow the warning you got to update your drivers.

I see you have a Radeon 9200. The ATI drivers get updated just about once a month. Get the latest at www.ati.com and you should be all set.
