First of all, thanks to Moosetek13 and others for their helpful replies. Yes, I was frustrated. I didn't even know what a debug was, though I've figured out that from the context of the flaming I got. Ai Karumba!
Have to go into the manual to figure out how to do it. I will try downloading the update again, as described.
Look, I loved this game. I haven't wasted hours of my life like this since Rome: Total War came out. Just not a tech guy. By the way, I loved the flame comment about how I hadn't replied to any messages since my initial post. That was 24 hours ago, for God's sake. I do leave the computer now and then. Try it sometime.
