game crashes before starting screen help me

The game crashes before the main screen where the start new game screen section is.

Ive looked but i do not see anything wrong, is my sys requirements too low or what?

please let me know

Here is a list of things ro do.

Update the game to 1.2
Update your video drivers
Update your audio drivers
Disable the motherboards audio in the mb BIOS - you don't need it with the Sound Blaster in there, and it is still taking resources.

Add more ram if you can. 256MB is barely, and I mean barely, enough to start the game. Add at least another 256, and 512 or more would be better. But doing the other stuff should get you up and running the game. Don't expect great performance though, with that amount of ram and that video card. GF2's are not very well suited to this game.

As the man said its time to upgrade your pc to get the best out of this game. It is worth it!!

i also have this problem. However, i don't really understand how to use the debugger tool to aid u in assisting me i ran it and emailed the exceptions. That is about all i know.

It is having trouble with the video.

Try deleting the Prefs.ini file, located in your My Documents\Games\GalCiv2 folder, then go into the Options screen and check the settings before you begin a new game.

thanks a ton. I realized what happened i got a new monitor that doesn't support as high of a res and the game had saved my pref settings.
