Dark Avatar question/comment

When does it take place?

The default year is 2225 for GC2 and 2178 for GC1. Just curious how long it took Drengin to dominate the whole galaxy after the Dread Lord War   Seriously though, is the timeframe already pegged for the Dark Avatar campaign or is the story still up in the air? Also it would be cool if the campaign storyline reflected some the new features of the Dark Avatar, like the colonization tech that suddenly allowed new planets to be settled. It presents some great story opportunities.

I think all we know right now is that two races are going to be killed off. And that the Drengin will break into two factions.

we don't know what race will be killed off yet.

although it would be cool if there were scattered remnants (say less than a billion scattered around the galaxy, remnants of an empire with 300 billion people) of the two races that were destroyed because even with tons of invasions, etc, theres bound to be some members of that race elsewhere.

I haven't done the campaigns, so I don't know much about the background story of the various races.

If they had cloaking, the factions that were destroyed could use guerilla warfare against their enemies.

they still will have lost their main worlds, and the survivors will only be a shadow of their previous empire...

I've read that the Altarians are one of the civs destroyed but a handful of them do survive.

All I know that I am looking forward to it   It'll be interesting to find out who else will buy it in the expansion.

If one civ occupied Altaria or the capitol planet of whatever race isn't there any more, but had to invest millions of troops into a vietnam-like war, that would be entertaining to see. [Unless it's me )]
