Morale and Population Growth

When calculating the population growth does it use the global morale value or each planet's morale value? For example, if all my planets except for one have morale 100% giving me a global morale of 99%, do my planets with morale 100% still get the 100% bonus population grownth?

It is determined locally, AFAIK.

What are the exact growth rates and how do they correspond to the color coding on the cov manager?

I know 100% doubles population, but what are the exact growth rates for the green yellow and red colors?

I can't remember what exact percentages are?

Here is a discovery I made in April:

Lots of confusion on that page, Michael.

The wikipedia (for once) has things right:

Look at the stuff written after "game version 1.1". That's accurate.

In theory, the wiki accurately explains the population growth as outlined by Brad in the 1.1 notes. However what I did was examine the actual data and realized that the population increase was a constant number rather than a percentage of the population. I haven't tested this out with 1.2, but I will!

After doing a test I can confirm the wiki is correct that the normal % growth is normally 3% or 75 million whichever is smaller.

This means that after 2.5 billion on a planet, 75 million (or 150 million with 100% approval) is the maximum amount of normal growth that can occur per turn. Of course, this was tested without racial traits or wonders that add to population growth.

Same thing happens with racial traits and wonders. Calculate the base first, which is the smaller of 3% and 75M as you say. Then apply the morale bonuses to that. Then apply the race bonus on top of that.

I just did a test. A planet with local morale 100% but global moral < 100% had less population after 5 turns then when I reloaded and kept the global morale 100%. So it must follow the global morale. I think it makes more sense to use the local morale for each planet. Stardock would you please consider changing this in v1.3?

Nope, it follows local morale, not global. I think it's more likely you bodged the test...specifically, you probably forgot that when you reload, the first time you press the turn button the game doesn't actually advance a turn in terms of population growth.

Yes it is local. When I ran the test the first time I must have miscounted the number of turns. The second time I ran the test I checked the results after each turn.
