Mining Colonies- A Suggestion

I just thought of an idea to give more use out of low class planets- a Mining Improvement. Instead of adding to production and research on the planet the improvement is on, it boosts production and research on another planet in the same sector.

When you first build one, it will generate a special ship called a Mining Convoy that you send to the planet you want to be boosted. To balance it, it a mine would have pretty high maintenance costs, but would give a percentage bonus to the production and research of the destination planet. Also, to simulate the harmful effects of mining, for each mine you build on a planet, you get a penalty to the effectiveness of each non-mine improvement on a colony. For example, if you have a mine on a planet, then you build a factory, the factory is less effective, than it would be if there were no mines on the planet.

Mining from asteroids will be an expansion, and there will be no more gameplay updates until said expansion. There will be asteroid fields that you mine for bonuses, which add another element to the expansion part of the game.

I think there should be a way to utilize some inihabitable planets by this method but would seem to require quite of bit of messing with code and adding that might be too major to add in the game at this point but I think the asteroid fields that you will be able to use in the DA expansion will be extrealy useful if anything this might not make it into this game but could be an idea for GCIII or something in the future.

I think it's a great idea, I will work on this you know i'll make an improvement that you can place on lv 3 class planet but the convoy thing that will be a little more complex
