Starter planet

Hello, this is my first post. I'm a bit curious how the starter planets are assigned bonus tiles. Sometimes they have none, and sometimes they are insanely overpowered. Seems like it would be better to moderate it to keep it in the middle.

The most bonuses I've ever had on my starter planet.

They are completely random.  This is what gives each game a unique twist...

To bad you could not save that planet and use it every game. If you cannot win with that start, you cannot win.

Holy crap is that Two Precursor mines you have... Good god you could beat the game with just that planet by itself.

Enjoy it, don't diss it. Trust me I have not actually started with A Precursor mine yet.

1500% Manufactoring bonus, 100% Research, 100% Population and 100% approval bonus?

Where do I sign? O_o.. Imagine having that as a manufactoring capital. You'd have 22 factories worth of production from 6 tiles...

Unfortunately my earliest save left for that game is quite a few turns in. All the tiles are built upon (Although that took very few turns). Not sure how to post a savegame yet either. I'm not REALLY complaining that much. It just seems that sometimes the game is won or lost on the first turn. And I did win that game, if I remember there weren't that many planets near it, but with:

1 Precursor Mine 700%
2x Useful Minerals 300%
3x Precious resources 100%

The planet starts with 1600% production bonus Plus add the manufacturing capitol's bonus, the planet was able to push out almost anything in 1 turn. If I recal correctly, I eventually had to replace the factories on the 100% tiles with tax buildings just to keep from going bankrupt ever other turn. Now if I could just find a planet with the research equivilant of that one.

Hee hee.

Tile bonus's are fun but not necessary on your homeworld if you have a good strategy. In fact from what i've seen it can really hurt to have too much
production on your homeworld but this might not be as much a problem with
version 1.2 and the changes to adjusting each worlds production. Haven't
ever noticed any problems with having too much research on a planet but having
a large population can be a problem so farm bonus's can cause problems. And
influence and morale bonus's are only positive as far as i can see.
It is actually a little rare to get a homeworld without bonus's -- I wanted
a homeworld without bonus's to try out a strategy and it took me 10 controll n's to get that.
Personally a home world with a 300% manufacturing bonus tile, a 700% research bonus tile, a 100% morale bonus tile, and a 100% farm bonus tile
would be heaven. Of course more research tiles would help, lol. And i'ld take
the research bonus's over anything else on my homeworld except they'ld probally have to be 300% or 700% bonus to really help.
