Maybe I am just missing something obvious, but is there a way to bomb a planet from orbit?

I find it a pain sometimes to have to invade every planet with troops. Is there a way to just use a fleet and blow every living thing off a world?

No. you can however use certain invasion tactics that greatly amplify your troops' power and damage the planet in the process, rendering it less useful for recolonization.

Yes but that tactic only works if you win, in which case you now just lost billions of Soldiers for a now worthless planet.

There is no real Bombing in game. When you attack use Mini Soldiers, you destroy structures but not the Value of planet.

The game can be easily modded, So just draw some cartoony missiles and create a new invasion tactic that gets unlocked 6 steps down the missile tree.

He's looking for a way to destory a world - without troopships. That's not possible as of now, but I think it's planned for the expansion. Sorry.

OK, what about sending in a couple of troop transports containing only one trooper (or a very very small amount of them) and then just mass-drive the planet to oblivion without sacrificing too much? You wouldn't win the planet, but by the time you'll finish with it, it'll be a lifeless rock.

But honestly, bombarding a planet until all life has been wiped from it could be fun.

instead of colonising planets you conquer, you could simply turn them into uninhabitable balls of dust XD
