Possible Bug in 1.2

Possible bug in v.1.2 is that the AI dont really build anything on their planets.. In my last game i was about to go to war with a race and as usual i do some spying on them first. I then looked at their planets just for fun.. there were countless planets that were 12 points in value. But there was only 2-3 buildings.... there were only 2-3 planets that had all tiles built on.. and yet the race was dominating in military and economic

Yea I have noticed this, apparently 1.2 has 'improved' planetary development to good. Not so sure that is true however, I have advanced spying on the other races and on some planets with free tiles they r not building anything. I am playing on suicidal lvl as well.

jep! Tho on the empty planets the only thing i see is IF there are any building its a Tile improvment (like a yellow tile wich are being upgraded)

if u've aligned nutral then u can see all the tiles including ones that they can upgrade on yet.

yes, planet development is better in 1.2, but still plenty of room for improvement. I captured a planet in a 1.2 game a little back that had a precursor library - which the computer had built a non-lab building on X(

and some AI planets (maybe the later ones they colonise) seem to take ages to get up and running with a decent number of buildings, as you say. Thankfully i havent got the extreme you mentioned so far though.

maybe they're researching up the factory tree too quick? on my last game I was probably dominating technology-wise, but only had enhanced factories, and higher at that stage could have crippled me - yet the torians had industrial sector! and come to think of it i captured a few fairly empty planets off them a bit later. cant have done them much good...

nightboy, out of curiosity did the race you were spying on have industrial sector quite early?

I think it depends on the difficulty level.

I play regular games on "tough" and they build on most of the tiles of every world. I play the Dread Lords scenario on "normal" and the regular civs hardly build anything at all. I think it's just that they don't have the money to build as much as they'd like, since their economy is capped below "tough".
