700% Research Square

Found it!

I seem to recall at some point people were looking for evidence that 700% Research squares were showing up in games. Here's the one I encountered tonight.

EDIT: BTW, the Insert Link/Insert Pic buttons here don't seem to work right.

Click on the pic and it'll take you to ImageShack. Sometimes you can refresh THAT page to get a slightly larger view of it. If it's still not clear I'll take another and won't shrink it any (was trying to save bandwidth).

I've had both the 700% Production and 700% Research squares - on Earth

My current game, I took the Arcean tech capital with a 700% research square...

... Right next to a planet with a 700% AND a 300% manufacturing square.

Which leads me to the question, can you move your manu/tech/political capital? As in, demolish them and build them elsewhere?

wow image shack sucks. I cant believe people choose it over photobucket.
you know the site where you get non of that bandwith crap and it doesnt resize your images to tiny tiny mode.

But no, 3 threads have come and past already prasing the 700% it was proven day 1.

Just played a gigantic obscene game and the Darth had 3 700% research squares. They had completed the total reasearch tree half way through the game. Had tech and influence victories turned off.

Hi,

Had a 700% prod and research on Earth, then found another 700% prod tile on a class 12 planet in star system next door. Took me 25 mins of restarts to get that!

Sad, I never restart.

The precursor mine went from mythical (ie... non-existant) to fairly common, possibly too common. After installing 1.2, the first game I played got a precursor mine on the very first planet I colonised. No others in the galaxy however so just really, really lucky I guess (advanced spying on all other races), so I have checked all 50 inhabitated planets in the game.

Perhaps it should be made a little more rare in a future patch/expansion?

One last point the planet with it on is constantly at a minus tax wise, so 1-2 other planets are needed to fund just one of those mines with a tech capitol, very powerful...

If a patch comes out to lessen the chance of these precursor mines....I will simply not install it

I once killed the humans and grabbedt he earth which had 2 700% research and 1 700% manufacturing.

lets say I moved my home planet there pretty darn quickly. and guarded it with the biggest fleet I could assemble

I once conquered an arcean planet with 700%, 300% and 100% production bonus tiles, industrial sectors and a manufacturing capital.

In my current game the Arceans seem to have gotten all the good stuff.

So far I've taken a planet with not only the 700% research but also had 2 300% and a 100% tiles on it too. The next planet had 700% manufacturing and 3 300% tiles.

They also have all the high PQ planets too, so far captured a 32, 30 and a couple of mid twenties.

I'm sure you can figure out why I declared war on them
