I think you may need to use the HTML tag for it to work in these forums, some forums don't do the forum tags.... the forums here are kinda strange

P.S I am Blue the Terran Alliance in the pic

maybe its something like international relations? or interspecies relations in this case.

also, on a similar thing, what would the popularity graph mean? popularity with what, other races?

Popularity is how much you are liked by all the other civilizations, if you had many allies, it would be high, if you were at war with everyone, very low.

However, what the Diplomacy one shows is a good question......

I think Diplomacy is your diplomatic skill. It affects how much bargaining power you have in negotiations. You'll get the best deals when you negotiate with people with the lowest Diplomacy relative to you.

Whereas Popularity is how much the other civilizations like you,

and Influence is how much voting power you have in the Galactic Council (or whatever it's called.)

Yes, that graph shows your diplomacy ability. It is a number that you can boost with numerous techs, like the diplomacy branch, government branch, and ethical branch. Humans have a racial diplomacy bonus, so it isn't surprising to see them on the top of the list.

If that is true, and it shows your diplomacy ability, then it should never go down. Especially with how it will rise then fall the exact same amount. And it doesnt look like random event things, because the Terrans alone changed 19 times in the span of two years. I could see how it would be the relative diplomatic advantage, but it would be nice for a dev to let us know exactly what this is supposed to represent.

Only if it tracks total diplomacy ability. If it tracks diplomacy ability relative to other civilizations, then yes, it can go up and down.

Wow, that's weird. It could be your amount of trade, actually, though I'm not sure why it would be under "Diplomacy" if so. That the Drath and Terrans (who have diplomacy bonuses) are on top suggests that it is, however, related to Diplomacy. It could also be espionage, or (more likely) it could be your popularity and your popularity could be something completely different (like how many enemy planets were affected by your influence zone).

yes I don't know exactly what it is telling me it could even be a calcualtion of numerous things mensioned here...

I'm pretty sure its relative diplomatic power, I.E Race X has 20 points and is the strongest diplomat, Race Y has 18 points and is a worse diplomat than Race X but still is a better diplomat than Race Z who only has 15 points.

Yes I think it relative diplomatic power to. It goes up and down when races get new relevant tech and I think military power also factores in to it. As you have a easier time getting your way when your military is strong.

nope, I have 7th ranked military in the galaxy at this point am Blue the top score. if it was military it would be the Drengin, Altarians, and Arceans at the top of this pyramid right now...

im going for relitive diplomatic ability .... if you look at the rise and falls of all the races, it sorta kinda works out (throw in some random events and diplo tecks and im sure it would work out)

if military power is factored in, and it certainly does affect your diplomatic efforts, then that could explain the dips in the graph. that your still top diplomat is not relevant. you can still be strongest diplomat even tho your relative power drops reducing your overall effectiveness.

ie. turn x i have 120 diplomatic racial bonus showing and i can trade tech y for 514 bc to the dirty drengin. turn x+1 drengin have 5 huge hulls complete and now even tho my diplomatic bonus is still 120 (and theirs is still crap) now they are only willing to pay 475 for the same tech. my 'relative' diplomacy has been degraded. i still own them in the diplomacy department but....
