The Narn Regime is here and the bugs are squashed! Only caveat is that the Zathrus hull style doesn't exist anymore because there is a hard coded limit of six hull styles. It will be a lot longer before the next release - anyone got any suggestions for the tech tree?

That never happens to me. It's always different. I've gone to war with the Narn. The Vorlons once wiped out the Minbari in one of my games. In one game the Shadows, Centauri, and I were the only ones standing and I was a good civilization.

Using black as a color scheme for the Shadows was ingenius.
Without hard looking their ships wont be noticed on the galaxy map.
I for one was playing and suddenly out of the blue a planet near my colony turns into a Shadow world and I went:"WTF!" till I notice per accident that there were more Shadow colony ships nearby.
This is gonna turn out fun in the later stages.

@Veers:
You might want to turn the intelligence ratings on random.
In my current game the Centauri and the Shadows are awfully ahead in tech and military might of me, the Narn and the Minbari with the Narn gaining strength after allying with me.
The vorlons I haven't even met yet. Now, if THAT doesn't sound B5ish...

never happened to me, on tough its always different.

But usually the vorlons go to war with the shadows, the centauri become power ful. Minbari are average, and the EA is either weak or average.


As for sound in the trade movies... do you really want to hear the actors talking about something completely different. Then what they r doin in the trade message.

I know having them black is sweet, its like thier type of cloak, they come out of the shadows and swipe you planets!! LOL

Thanks for your feedback, I did have a game where I bumped up the intelligence on the Vorlons and Shadows and it still went the same way, strange.

Anyway, I've got a war to wage against the Minbari.

Does adding these ship styles replace the original 5 ship styles, or does it add another set of ship styles raising the total number to 10? if not, can it be done?

doesnt replace anything, what is done is the AI is forced to use the b5 models, instead of the Stock ones.


You as a user can use non b5 models if you wish, but why would you its a b5 mod

Sounds like a pretty good mod, is there any way to force the player to use only babylon5 models like the AI?
Also, how is jewellry and weapons handled? Wont they mess up the b5 models?

I just had a idea for a small enhacement to the race communication screen. Why not add shadow voices to the backround music that plays when you talk with Shadows, and add vorlon translator sound to the music that plays when you speak to Vorlons?

So far i had much fun with this mod, most of the games i had go very B5 like. Vorlons declare war on Shadows, Minbari go to war with Earth, Centauri and Narn are at each others throats etc. Imo Shadows could use Korx AI instead of Thalan, since they usually manipulated other races to attack each other, to promote evolution, and atleast in my opinion the Korx like to pay people off to do their bidding rather than declare war themselves.

By the way, one of the Narn hulls seems to miss hardpoints totally, if i remember its the huge hull, wich is a G'quan cruiser if im right.

Well, in the SW Mod the "person" in question said just one sentence.
Like:
"What is thy bidding, my master."
or:
"ROARRARGH UARGH ROAR!"

So one could perhaps do that here too.
Not that I'd really need it tough. Just a thought...

That's was I was thinking too...

And as for scenario variety lemme say that in my current game I play Narn and the Vorlons and Minbari despise me, the Centauri are overly powerful and both Shadows and EA are weak. The latter already kiss my feet.

Forgot to mention this in my last post, but imo the siege of Narn would be better for the invasion video rather than just a fleet in space.

Also, will the Narn get their own freighter model? I remember distinctly them having a civilian transport vessel that could be used as a freighter.

And Morden should refer Shadows as "my associates" when speaking to the Centauri, would be a nice touch .

As for the the weapons and other components, use the invisible components mod, located in the library .

ALSO if you use my media pack final mod,

Heh, got a funny idea for the anomaly video.
I remember a episode where EA opens a Babylon 5 giftshop on Babylon 5, and they create a John Sheridan teddy bear. At end of the episode(not shown though), Sheridan spaces the teddy bear out of a airlock, then a starfury is sent to investigate a "unknown object". Would be nice to see the end of it when the Teddy bear splashes on the starfury, and the pilot says he can't see a unknown object.

By the way are you going to replace the mini_meanwhile videos?
Like mini_meanwhile_desert with the shadow vessel excavation scene? And Mini_meanwhile_dogfight with somekind of dogfight scene?. (heh, just can't stop talking about the movies..)

i could, i just didnt know people wanted them, also i dont play with minor races, so i hardly see the minis but if there is enough demand for it, ill start workin on it. Rember i have to convert each file 3 times, thats why sometimes i have to make fixs for some clips because they get lost in the shaffle and i upload a unfinished copy. IE the starbase clip.

So i dont mind doing it, but i dont want to do it if no one uses it. BTW 220mb media pack proably translates to 10+hrs of work. But i dont mind, as long as people are using it and enjoying

I play the mod on normal and the game seems to follow the same path each time. The Vorlons and Minbari form an alliance; the Centauri dont get past having half a dozen worlds before being the first to be wiped out; the Shadows are the next to be wiped out leaving me (EA) and the Narn v the 'good' alliance.


Really? Last time i played it was an all out war between the centauri and the vorlons. The rest got owned by Centauri. I (EA) just kinda sat there and watched the two superpowers duke it out. Then they attacked me so i conquered a few of there planets... Vorlans won.

Just got a idea, whenever you implement the tech tree, each race could have a technology that they start out with, wich gives them a edge in certain kind of technology area.

For example Vorlons would start out with a tech that allows them to outfit ships with lasers that do 2 dmg, and Centauri would start out with mass drivers that do 2 dmg, Shadows would start out with a tech that allows them to outfit their ships with engine that has speed of 2 parsecs etc...(these are just examples)

Have done the beam (laser cannon) and mass driver (particle cannon) branches, it was soooooo much more work than I had anticipated. It probably breaks a few rules, and I am open to suggestions, but most are from more than one source. Lasers are useless before a very large amount of reseach is spent on them - even then they only reach their full potential for those who chose the evil (chaos) ethical path. There are descriptions for the techs, I am currently checking through the gramma and spelling

I will never speak a nasty word about these forums if this works...

Hmmmm...looks ok.I see Laser takes lot of hull at start,low damage and expensive to reaserch.But that is quite similiar to the show.Only advanced and quite old races had them,exept Narn that stole quite lot technology from Centaur and whatever else from whoever they could put their hands on.


Have you had any thoughts about techtree concerning biological technology?Becouse of Vorlons,Shadows,Drakh and Minbari.Minbari since they partially use Vorlon technoly on their Ships.

Could it be seperate techtree eventually,only availble to Vorlons and Shadows.Very expensive,very high reaserch cost.Vorlons and Shadow could start with them...it would give them edge in Space battles but would suffer in diplomacy,planetary growth etc.Anyway just a thought,might be easier to implement as Avatar comes out.
