game crashes after a few turns

Hi My game keeps crashing in version 1.2, I was able to play 1.11, never played the beta. Apparently it has something to do with my videodrivers being unable to complete a drawing operation, or so it says when my PC restarts. I disabled all the ingame video options and didn't allow the complex CPU algorithms I tried using the nvidia drivers 84.21 and 81.98 and ran drivercleaner everytime before trying to reinstall, now I don't now anymore what to do. The Nvidia MX chips are not the best for this game. A lot of people have trouble wih them. And it looks like you are still using an original version of WinXP, not even up to ServicePack 1, much less SP2. And your audio drivers are very old, they need updating as well. Also, your swap file is quite small, you should increase it to at least 1GB, and 2GB would be better if you have the HD space available. Increasing your physical ram would help also. The game may load with 256MB, but it will never run well with that amount.

The PC I play on has no internet access. And I can't find how to just download SP2 to write it on cd and install it on my PC. Is there a way to do this? Also can you tell me how I have to increase my swap file? Thanks

I think you can go to microsofts website and get a service pack 2 cd sent to you for free, though it will take a week or so.

as for swap file, right click on my computer->properties->advanced, click on performance settings->advanced, then click change in the virtual memory area, and put the max up to 1 or 2 Gb if you have the room.
