"Everyone?" Those primarily wanting tactical battles make up a little less than half of the poll results. Granted it's a lot higher than multiplayer, but meh...

Anyway, I think it would be cool if we had a more expanded metaverse campaign as an intermediate sort of multiplayer. Your performance in a game would contribute to progressive stats for your race, and we could have events. (Like "X Race is really kicking it out of Y race this month, so Y race will need a couple major victories to avoid losing Z award that they currently hold." or "The Humans are dominating, so all other races get an additional bonus when beating humans in MetaCampaign games this week.") Of course, such a system might be more trouble than it's worth to implement. If nothing else, you'd need another set of protected settings files to avoid people from doing cheesy things like playing in a galaxy full of evil races while a good race is the weekly target.

I like all of the options, but multiplayer is my primary wish. would rock to play multiplayer in a B5 mod and dish it out Earth vs. Minbari and Narn vs. Centauri or all vs all

Personally i'd settle for email play as I prefer to mull over what i want to do, and still have a full time life to consider aswell.

Personally, if TC was ever implemented- I'd want it to be fairly simple in nature, and non-exploitable. That's too much to ask for though.

Actually, he might have a point. If they ran a poll with "What feature would you LEAST like added?" I don't think I'd be the only one to answer "Tactical Combat."

My guess is that Diplomatic voters would mostly go Political, and vice-versa. (My first was Diplomacy, my second would be Politics, my third would be ship design, after that I'm not sure. Tactical Combat is last, though.)

MP would rank far higher than TC in my opinion. The skill in this game is thought. Not reaction time and tactical control of ships. This is not Counter strike, where mice skills and cheatzz0rs are teh ub3rest of 411 j00 nubzz0rs.
If MP got added, it could be great. Like a good game of chess, challenging an opponent. Tactical combat could ruin that, because even if it was balanced morons who can't do strategy for crap could still win.

hey i am with both sides for tactical wars and multiplayer. i play alot of turnbased games and tactical battle is a portion of any strategy type game i would like to see, for instance i also play rome total war which is a very good game but they dont have a true multiplayer system all you are able to do is have tactical battles you choose what troops you want then you fight. i am not a person that likes to play a game that is only a few hours long, i want a game that you can keep playing. i mean i like galactic civilizations but more does need to be done. because all i see is that you are able to do is be a diplomat or a scientist let all the strategies work in the game such as everyone would like to see tactical combat. multiplayer and tactical combat go hand in hand with each other in any game i think. hack and slash well go buy a console for that.
