QUESTIONS: trading trade goods / influence points

If I trade a trade good from another race (according the forums, I get the advantages, but not have to store it) and the planet the good is on gets decommissioned (race can just destroy it) or somebody invades the planet and uses an invasion tactic that destroys the good, what happens? Did I lose the advantages?

Also, see influence points are available for trade. It always says 1and I've even traded for them, but the next turn I see we're both at 1 like nothing happened. What is that??

1 is just the default trading option for influence points, if you click on that trading option a slider comes up with the full range of points to purchase if you want to. Buying influence points is incredibly expensive.

How long do the points last once bought?

---- also someone please help me with this FORUM BUG ----

FORUM BUG

"please post a message before submitting your article". I keep getting this and can't get out of it even trying new posts. For a while posting new threads worked and then now no matter what the interface looks different (with rich text stuff on it and like regular verses fancy text code used to be below now it's on a second page)), too and I fill every field and try and try. Replying to articles worked.. I've rebooted, restarted my browser, cleared the cache and cookies, nothing. It only happens when I create new threads.

This forum won't even load on MSIE, just firefox. Netscape loads it but it freezes Netscape.

I tried making a new account (with cookies cleared) and still the same problem.

Influence points are votes in the United Planets counsel meetings. You have them until you use them at the next meeting.

Has anyone out there ever destroyed a trade good or wonder (u know what I mean) when mass driver etc... a planet? I never have. Once built they seem virtually indestructable. The only thing I have not tried is destroying a colony with one on.

If anyone has managed to destroy one, do u get the option to rebuild it or is it lost forever?

I've never been able to mass-drive one of those things. It's probably not possible, I go through mass drivers like candy.

This seems like the ultimate cheese tactic. Sell votes for cash and tech. Then reload the game if they all vote for something stupid. Oh and it's not like you have enough votes to force favor usually (if you do you don't need to do this).

The comp won't pay very much for influence from you generally. And I have had a civ on the brink of destrusction sell me all their influence realitivly cheap. Although that was a few patchs ago.

Also influence that you can trade and vote with is not exactly the same as influence you take over the galaxy with. You populations influence generates influence points every turn. These points last forever and are your votes and can be traded permanently. However everyones always generating more influence points so if you buy a lot the effect will slowly diminish because it's being deluted as more and more influence points exists in the game. I hope that made sense.

If everyone has 100 influence at the start of the game, by week 5 everyone has 500 points. I trade for 500 points and double my voting power to 1,000 points. In 10 more turns I have 2,000 and other people have 1,500 so my point advantage is not as significant.

Okay please confirm someone, are these influence point tradings temporary until the next election, or are they permanently gone forever??

Anyone know the answer to my last question above?

Also, I am still experiencing a bug where I can't start new threads. It is detailed here. I hope stardock fixes this.
