Is there a notice when the AI steals your technology (I'm thinking no)? There should be.

I am still experiencing a bug where I can't start new threads. It is detailed here. I hope stardock fixes this.

But.... you just made a thread....

Also, why the bloody hell should there be? The whole point of espionage is you don't know about it.

They are going by MOO2 where their was a chance that you would learn of it or that it would be blamed on someone else. I personally didn't like that feature, i like how it is now.

Y'know, I have that same darn forum bug, as do quite a few others, but nobody seems to care.

Marcathonus: It would appear that Meklar did the same thing as me--he took an older thread that he made, one with no replies, and replied to it himself to draw attention to the "no new posts for YOU!" bug that a few of us are having. Look at the dates.

I mean, it's not like we can start an "I can't start threads!" thread, is it?

I could post messages that morning, then noon I couldn't.

Bump.

Hey, what determines who surrenders to whom, and when? I just had a game where my allies, the good Iconians, surrendered to the evil Drengin. The Drengin weren't on good terms with the Iconians, but they also weren't at war. The Iconians and I were at war with the Yor/Korx alliance (which had nothing to do with the Drengin), and we were about to win (in fact, I finished off our foes the next week). The Iconians weren't threatened or anything, I had cleared their area with my flotilla earlier. They MIGHT have been broke economically, but that's about it. Ideas?

(I can't post this separately because of the bug.)

The reason this is a good idea is

1) it makes the AI look good to the player. Like all through GalCiv I I never realized that the Drath might pay people to go to war against me. I didn't know they were that smart. I've never noticed the AI stealing tech either. Didn't know they did.

2) it helps your strategy. omg, they stole my doom ray! research beams.

Basically the fun of these games is that you know every last detail: what building X does to your morale, how much production it takes to build 1 ship a turn, where fleet X is and how well it will do in battle. Even the randomness is known randomness. So if the AI can catch up in the tech tree without your knowing how, you can't combat it and you won't feel as in control. This game's all about control.
