I would like to create a FAQ of this game concerning repeated questions concerning the game..

I am planning to create a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) list applying to this site and things repeately asked by newbies and other members.. I would like any suggestions you could give me on this so I would not have to navagate this black hole of a forum for the questions asked over and over if you could provide the link with an answer to the question that would be much appreciated..

Thank you to anyone who chooses to give me info...

el-conquest,

Creativity is a random dice roll of free tech advances.. A roll is made based on your ability and if it rolls yes based on the % factor you have for an empire you will get a free tech advance in any area availible to research at that time...Say you have a bonus of 50% so there is a probability of 1 in every 2 dice rolls that you will get a free tech upon advancing a tech level. <<< all based on probability..

what? - the default creativity costing 1pt is 25% - if you got a free random tech after 1/4 of all the techs you research, as the above would suggest (if i understand what your saying right), this would be way too good for 1pt (would basically increse your tech rate by 25%), and would be easily noticable (and i havent noticed it)

so.... can you clarify? i must be mis-understanding something...

no you wouldn't nessiarialy get a tech every four techs it is a dice roll meaning the one side of the dice is the get free tech side so basically when you roll you have a chance 1 in say 6 for a normal die of landing on that get free tech side of the die.. It is not every 1 in four techs as you suggest.. like playing Craps you shoot for seven and you have a 1 in 2 chance of rolling a 7 everytime you roll the dice..the percentage of creativity is the odds of you hitting the seven to say the most about it...

here is an odds calculation for dice rolls with two dice..

If you say Tactical combat sucks your saying every 4x but GalCiv has sucked for the last couple years and thats not true.

Learn to read. I didn't say TC sucked, I said a simple TC as some guys have sugguested based on a variant of R/P/S (Both sides choose to do something, then simultaneously display, results are symmetric) would suck.

Most of the games you listed had TC combat that are Chess plus like, that's completely different. In chess like games, the best strategy is difficult to see unless you can search through the whole game tree, for the optimal path. Impossible for a game like Chess, for a complicated Chess like game with probabilitic events, makes it even harder.

In short, what you need to do is just adding a "Updated info" button on this hp's menu. So we can find and check it easily.

How about these for the Faq?

How does a person upgrade an entire ship type? I seem to be only able to upgrade each ship individually.

Why can the AI attack my freighters even if I have built a galactic privateer and there is a trade federation currently running supposedly protecting freighters from attack?

Perhaps AI think that a slightly lose is not a matter because they always get everything easier.
