1.2 beta bug in relation to ship vs ship combat

I'm also having a strange thing in relation to ship battles. I have yet to see more than 2 ships in a battle, so even if I have a fleet of say two ships and I attack a planet, it'll just show a quick animation of the explosions, no battle vid screen rather than show both ships in my fleet and the defending ship.

same thing with space battles, if I have a fleet of say 3 ships and I attack a fleet of one, it does the same thing as above most of the time. Sometimes it does this when attacking frieghters as well.

from what I've heard, what should happen is that all ships on both sides should appear in the battle screen, even if its 3 on one. and this isn't happening

hit Escape, click the "Interface" tab (I think) and underneath the place where it says "Full Battles" there is a checkbox for "show fleets in full battles." Or if it says "Normal Battles" then click the arrow next to it to make it say "Full battles." Somewhere in there you will get fleet battles turned on.

oh I think I see my problem, I have 'only show fleet battles if both sides are fleets' checked.

THAT must be what it is.

edit: yep, that was my problem.
