Its cool, i think they just want to know if they can have certain things in their games, or if they think they would need to add things. They probably think that there are plenty of things for guys, but knowing if they would like to add things like .....i dont know....pink lights or something. Or maybe hunky men....hmmm..... hunky women.... ahhh! Something girl like! i dont know!

Its a marketing most likely. For example, knowing that they have a large percentage of women users might make them advertise in a womans magazine. Thats probably not what they would do but it gives you an idea.

if i was a scantily clad amazon, i'd totally be evil... or at least i'd take (mostly) the evil choices early in the game, and then display my "heart of gold" by turning good when i got xeno ethics...

Oh dear...seems like GalCiv2 is a man's world after all....silly of me to get my hopes up that the game may be a little more mixed gender than some hyper-violent shoot em up...

Actually, after going to a Simutronics convention awhile back I was in shock to see the majority of females over males there. Although for some reason in that mud there seemed to be a greater number of "male" characters over "female". And yes, unless you really got to know the person behind the madness, quite alot of the players were convincing enough role players that they could pass for either.

The poll numbers for girls may be exagerated due to pranksters. Girls, generally, aren't interested in science fiction. Girls, generally, aren't interested in video games; especially computer games; especially turn based, strategy, computer games.

I just hope that they won't make some shortcuts like "we have 99% males, males like males stuff so this female oriented feature won't be into this game/update/expansion..."

on a sidenote :
anyone noticed that their polls never have a alternative beside the answer they want ?
(example : male/female/other, with other meaning: don't want to reply, don't know, I"m not really a male nor a female...)
