Subspace Blasters

I just got back home and wanted to download the new 1.2 beta B and keep playing towards victory.

Well I just finished researching subspace blasters and they are not worth the time spent researching them. WTF?

For a Medium hull they only do 6 damage and take up 8 spaces. thats less than the Disruptors they are supose to replace.

This has to be a bug right? Anyone know what the stats are supose to be?

The technology "Subpace Blaster" seems to have incorrect tech requirements, or the weapon was partially relocated in the tech tree.

One solution would be to alter the Subspace Blaster tech to follow after Phaser VII, instead of Disruptors III. The Research Point cost should probably go down from 6000 to 2400~2800 range. Another solution would be to increase the benefit of the weapon in terms of size/damage/cost/etc.

Why Does the Subspace Anihalator have no weapon in this tech??

The Blaster should be before Disrupters since it seems to have a little less on attack than Disruptors and less on space than Phasors VII..

Just go on to the Doomray and don't use the Blasters.

There have been other threads about this in the past, for example:

The description for Subspace Annihilator says:
"The Subspace Annihilator is the Subspace Blaster but with a newly engineered crystal that can inflict massive beam weapon damage."
So they are both bugged. Subspace Blaster is a joke and Subspace Annihilator doesn't even exist.

It isn't only the beam-weapon line that is in need of some adjustments.
Here are some weird gun stats:

Technology Mass Drivers III gives both Railgun MK V and Railgun MK VI
(component name, cost, size, sizemod, damage)
"Railgun MK V", 22, 6, 5, 1
"Railgun MK VI", 22, 5, 5, 1
Pointless, either remove MK VI completly or make one of them better and much more expensive with another name.

Quantum Driver follows Graviton Driver IV
"Graviton Driver IV", 33, 4, 4, 3.....6 damage / 8 space.....18 damage / 24 space.
"Quantum Driver", 37, 8, 4, 4.....4 damage / 8 space.
"Quantum Driver II", 37, 7, 4, 4.....4 damage / 7 space.
"Quantum Driver III", 37, 6, 4, 4.....4 damage / 6 space.....16 damage / 24 space.
Quantum Driver I, II and III are all worse then Graviton Driver IV, their predecessor.

Damn those are some glaring glitches left in the tech-tree...

I hope they are corrected, otherwise it makes some of the weapons worthless, but required just to move on to a better weapon. It could also effect the AI since it would handle them like an improvement to an earlier weapon when in fact they are not.

Almost a year later and at least Subspace Blaster is still broken.
