Population Bonus worth it?

In the last game i played i chose the population bonus +70%. I havn't really been noticing any bonus. My planets all seem to be growing at the regular 200,000m a turn. Maybe im not being observant enough but id like to know if there really is any bonus to the population bonus.

Thanks.

Last time I checked, population growth was capped, but this might have been changed in one of the patches.

I don't know if the abilites give the correct bouns to your pop growth when you build Aphrodisiac though it seems to speed growth quite a bit though on your planets that are above class 6.. << when it is below this class it seems to cap population farely quickly..

The Don't Ask 70% bonus should be given to you look in the stats and graphs charts and see if it is given..

Population bonus worked as of 1.1 I believe, maybe 1.0x.009. I use it for my custom race, 10% from abilities 10% from political party. Easiest way to tell is compare your population to the other races. As for working, I love it. It allows me to get a couple of cash farms running much faster and can give a great early boost to my economy (not to mention that loading up troop transports don't damage my economy for as long).

your at the max of your pop growth if you can reach that and mantain it throughout game you dont need pop growth bonus but otherwise its handy

I do not know if it is working properly but ever since I started using it I easily outgrow the other races at suicide level. It does seem to be worth the pick. If it is capped maybe you might want to just go with 30% and use the other points. Population is important in this game so it is a valuable pick.

More pop = more cash

I dont use racial points on pop growth bonus. Rather I wait for the AI to build the Aphrodisiac Trade Good (At higher levels the AI builds this rather quickly). Once I have got a reasonable cashflow, I simply buy the Trade good and get the pop growth bonus.

a word of warning, if you take a pop bonus, try and get a moral one too, otherwise they'll multiply too quickly for your morale tech too keep up
