Econ Starbase Trade Bonuses

Are they cumulative?

I was under the impression that if a freighter (or trade route) passed through an economic starbase's area of effect, and if that starbase had say +30% for trade, that trade route would get +30% in income regardless of how many other starbases it passed through.

Reading some other posts though, people seem to think that building more starbases (and upgrading them) along the route will stack this effect. So if you had two +30% starbases along the route, you'd get a total of +60%? Is this true? How exactly does this bonus work and when does it apply?

I have wondered this too. The AI certainly seem to play as though the effects do stack, as they often build loads of economy bases in the same area.

I noticed that the impact is only if its in the AE of the starbase. What this means is if it passes threw it, and then leaves the area, the money goes back down. So yes just like all starbases it stacks but the end of the journy (on your side) has to be in the AE. The 30% do not stack so to say, they add up. Stackign usualy means this.
Base Value = Base Value * (1+ %)
so
Base Value = 100 * (1 + .3)
new base value is 130
if stacking is what it is, which it isnt, it would be then
base value = 130 *( 1+.3) for the adition of the 2nd starbase
in reality its
Base Value = base value (1 + sum(all mods))
so in this case 160 = 100 (1+.3+.3)
which isnt stacking, its just adding

One more thing to mention, as the bonus applys to the trade income the freighter produces while in the starbases sphere of influence, it make sense to build them as far away of the trade routes starting planet as possible.

Assuming, of course, that you can keep them from getting blown up at long distances.

A problem I have with using starbases to enhance trade is that I'm never sure how much effect I'm having. There just doesn't seem to be a screen anywhere that shows the numbers involved (If there is, could someone tell me where please!)

A simple solution would be for the trade window to have a tooltip pop-up over each trade route showing the original value, and how starbases are influencing this.

By lining every inch of my trade routes in one game I had over 3000bc per turn in TRADE ALONE! Without the bases, it would've been much less for sure.
