You can get the german version at Amazon Germany Link. I bought it there, and it shipped within 24 hours.

Yes, you can but be carefull! The German version is terribly localized. The translation is bad and some words ar'nt translated at all...

I have the german CE. I think, they took good care on lokalizing. (Uhh, my english is...)
I hope we get no problems with the patches. It seem as it's always all about the english version.
Am i the only one, who still got lots and lots "String not found" messages? I mean, I don't get it? 1.2 and still so many bugs.
But still: got it yesterday and played all night. Can't believe i almost did'nt get it just because of the bad tests in the magazines. Best strategical I played... since MoO II (a long, long time...).

@Lucky: Did you ever update your release? The latest patches contain massive bugfixes to the translation, if there are still words not beeing translated.... drop me a line in the chatroom

@Healrox: Because of Stardocks politics on patchdistribution, there will ALWAYS be big problems with the localized version. In order to get rid of the string-not-found-message contact me in #galciv on irc.stardock.com, I'll drop you the latest beta-changes for the german files.

@GaiserGoarl: Yes it is, but you can also simply change a windows-registry-key, so no need for generating traffic

That`s because the bad localisation.

Yes Malacaay (Are you a spellforce 2 fan!?), you can download the english version with your "german" cd key. For free of course.

No Lucky, that's not because of the bad localization, it's because of Stardocks politics not to give a pre-release-version to paradox, so the translation can only be done AFTER the release. It's not good to keep hitting the translation if that's only the result of other problems.

err... can u tell me how? I still didn't figured it out.

(edit) Ok, i dont have to download. Found a thread here that helped me. I dind't know that the "german versin" is just the complete english + the localisation. Isn't quite common, these days...
Just renamed the /data/german so the game gets it's content from /data/english. Now I have muuuuuuuch less "string not found" stuff and now ALL the approvements from 1.2 beta. Life can be so easy

You should'nt have this messages at all from now.
If you have still some, deinstall the game, reinstall it, rename the folder, patch the game, and the rename the folder again... that should help...

As far as I can see it's just in the options menu over the mods directory prompt. In the moment I got no time to play.
But just in clicking around i can see it's much better. In the german version not even the planetclasses were shown (guess: string not found... ).
Can't wait to play again. Perhaps tomorrow (dammed, tomorrow evenig is soccer in TV. Argh.)

Oh yes, I have also "Sting not Forund" erros (but I have not installed the 1.20 beta, only the 1.11.029 which SDC provides after disabling preRelease Versions).
