Greets all,

Just got GC2 the other day and have been enjoying it immensely. I am also interested in doing some mods, being a CG artist and all. A couple of comments & a question:

1. These forums should have a "search" feature. At least I didn't see a search field anywhere.

2. The game manual states that DestopX is a "free download". It's a free trial download but a person still needs to buy it eventually. That's misleading.

3. Are ".X' files DirectX files? I use LightWave and Softimage (licensed user) for modeling/animating. LW requires a plugin and I'm not sure about Softimage yet. The manual says that "most 3D modeling packages" support exporting .x files. Anyone know which 3D apps? 3ds max or...?

1. It's there, below 'Recent posts' I haven't checked how well it works

2. Yep, can't argue with that

3. I don't know much about 3d modelling but .x is pretty standard for 3D modellers. Blender is free and I believe it supports it.

Yes, .X is DirectX format. You can export from 3dSM using the Panda Exporter (not sure about other programs).

Thanks for the quick responses!

Doh! about the Search tool. Obviously I need a glasses...

That's cool Blender has it but I'll stick with the 'real' apps, thanks. I'll use the plugin for LW and hopefully that'll be enough.

NO search feature? Try looking on the left, below "recent posts".

It's been there all along.
