Ai does not worry about tech victory

I can win every time by tech victory

Why does the Ai not seem to worry at all about A tech victory? Is Normal difficulty setting really an easy difficulty setting? If so what setting is the balanced setting for a player who knows what he is doing?Meaning what setting is the lowest setting that the Ai is not a dumbass and watches me win .
I just played A gigantic map with 9 Civs .most were much tougher than me militarily ,yet I won by tech victory simply because they did not seem to care about me and my rampant researching machine. so eventually i upgraded almost every tile on every planet to a research upgrade and simply won by tech victory.

Yes, normal is an easy setting. Tough is where the AI gets the algorithms to recognise and counter what you're doing. Normal it's still drooling and making snarky comments. Gigantic map+ tight clusters (guessing you used that?) is like saying "Hey, I want the AI to be as stupid as possible).

Tough, medium map, scattered stars, everything else up to you. If there are <5 races then they can really shine with things like ship building. This is what I now play for a decently challenging game where the AI doesn't make stupid mistakes (like sending a tiny fleet right into a planet that has Armageddon roughly 5 parsecs behind )

I don't believe the AI has the capability to recognize or oppose a tech victory even on Tough. One suggestion in an earlier thread on this topic was for it to possiby embargo its trade routes with you, knowing you were planning to leave it behind.

Actually, the AI 'knows what you are doing' once you start going up the Tech victory path ever since 1.1 I think. I found this out the hard way when playing Battle of the Gods

So what does it do when it knows what your doing? Do all the AI's attack you to try and kill you before you transend reality?

It's a little weird from a "Role playing vs Game play" perspective.

Maybe races could start demanding that you share the tech victory techs you have researched or they declare war. Like,

"We see your races is moving towords a superior state of being. We think it is very selfish of you to not share this technology with the entire galaxy, or at least us. Tell us the secrets of the universe or we will extract the information from your brains directly."

It just counts as a negative factor on your race relations screen, making them more likely to declare war on you.
