Bring the dreadlords to the regular game.

I think the dredlords should appear in the regular game outside of the campaign. In the origional game they usually added a lot of flavor and difficulty to the game when they appeared, they had vastly superior weapons technlology and always added a late game challenge. I think they should be added to this for the same reason, and why not give htem unique technology that can be stole, for example, to add some of that kind of flavor to the game.

Of course their being in should be an option but it would add some interesting elements to the late-game if done correctly.

there's always DreadLords on Parade type of game

I mean how it like how it was in the old gal-civ. They would appear as a minor race, except they were actually very powerful and took out planets. Or something like the antarians in MOO2.

The Dread Lords should apear in the regular game play and not just in the campaign mode. I'm very disappointed!

MOO2 is Masters of Orion 2 an old 4x strategy game (that's the same genre of stratgety games Galactic Civilizations falls under.) It's apperantly one of the classic's of the genre. I can't tell you more because I've never actually played it.

I agree. They are the only race not in the regular game play

yes having the dreadlords in the regular game would be nice also give them more logistics too for added fun

The Dread Lords would routinely wipe out people who weren't prepared. It would be best to allow you to choose any race when playing Dread Lords on Parade (or mod the game yourself, which isn't that hard, and in this case would probably involve transferring some files).

There should be a Dreadlords event that sometimes pops up in teh sandbox mode.I'm also dissapointed to have never seen the Dreadlords.I never play campaign games, only sandbox,

Find this file: C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Data\English\ScenariosDread Lords on parade.gc2scenario

Copy the entire file and paste it into a text editor, then save it as anyfilename.gc2scenario. Save it to the mods/scenario folder (not sure where that is now that they've changed it all around in the new beta).

Find this line:
PlayerRace=0

That number determines which race you play as. You can find which number corresponds to which race here: http://tinyurl.com/hb2b5

If you want the game to continue after the Dread Lords have been exterminated, find this line:

[EVENT]
count=1
[EVENT0]
type=1
race=11
outcome=1
description=Defeat the Dread Lords to win.

Change it to this:
[EVENT]
count=0

If all that's too complicated, I've already done it: http://thegalacticcore.com/forum/pafiledb/index.php?act=view&id=76
I have no idea if that works in the current version (haven't tried it lately), but it should.

The only thing mike is that then they will work like a player race. I want them to be the evil super powerful high tech race that appears late game to kill all to give a late game challenge.

Though this is nice. I just wish i could use them as an opponeant in the metaverse.

You should try it, the graphics are old but not too bad and the game is still good by todays standards. Being that MOO2 and Galciv are the only turn based space strategy games not from a company with just 2 employees.

No, they act the same way they do in "Dread Lords on Parade", except that you can pick which race you want to play as and the game doesn't end when someone kills them off.

However, they will appear from the very beginning, not at some point later in the game. I think that would require some recoding, not modding.

Hmm..... Then again....... I wonder if they could be added to the raceconfig.xml file and appear as a minor race mid-game like the Vegans, Paridians, etc......

I've just started getting into the metaverse, so I have to be careful what I mod, but I'm going to look into that.
