Foreseeing is good

Apart from the ship creating/upgrading bug (that seems to manifest only when you use the example mod), so far I found in the beta more very useful improvements than bugs.
I have only a couple of humble suggestion.

1) In my opinion the new Maximum Planet's Population number in the Planet screen is of no use. As you can see in the following images,

it displays the same number that you can find under the voice "Food Production": it is sufficient that you convert the mt/wk in billions of population, but since the two value have a 1:1 ratio it's really a simply matter.
It would be far more useful if the new Maximum Planet's Population number in the Planet screen would display the maximum population counting all the possible improvements to the farming structures. In this case I'll know that, no matter how many and how advanced farms I build on the planet, the population won't exceed that number.

2) Also very useful appears to me being able to know how many available tiles there will be on a planet after completing the "Soil Enhancement - Habitat Improvement - Terraforming" tech branch. In this case, since the very start of the game, when I colonize a planet, I may decide what structure are worth building and where, considering not the planet as it is but as it will be after its complete development.

I like it the way it is. But everybody is entitled to have his own opinion of course!

Because I think that food production doesn't always equal max population. Planet quality is also considered I think. When I play as Terrans and colonize Mars (Class 4) without building farms of any kind - then population will max out at around 3.25 Billion. Even though fod production is allowing for 5 Billion.
On higher class planets food production equals max pop for a long time. I guess you can build quite a few farns/upgrades befor you get the max possible number (again displayed next to the current number).
At least thats what I have read somewhere, I hope I remember correctly.
So I like it the way it is. I think a lot of people had problems with it before, because their populations stagnated at some point even thogh food production was higher and they took it for a bug.
That's what I gathered from some forum topics at least - never read those posts.

Displaying the max population with all possible upgrades would be to confusing for me. Then it would also have to display how many of those upgrades and additional farms you would have built. since you don't know what the cut-off point related to planet quality is. It's a fixed number for every planet according to his initial quality/class I guess. But I never bothered to notice or write it down to check later.

As to the max pop thing, have you tried building way too many farms on a planet? Planets have their own cap - you would not be able to get the pop to grow to 100B on a class 4 planet, even if you could build enough farms. Maybe that's what that number means...

For your second point, you do realise that you can change existing structures into other ones right? Just build your planet according to the way it is now, and change it afterwards if you need to. I agree this would be a useful feature though.

Well, you don't remember correctly.

Currently this numbers doesn't scale with the PQ. So it shows for example 15Billion max for a PQ 3 planet... which makes it quite useless.

Imho it should give you the max number of people allowed on this planet based on the PQ of the planet.

agreed! otherwise, it isn't giving you new information... just the same information you could get from looking at food.

i can imagine a new player who doesn't know about the PQ cap just sitting there and getting upset because they can't get their population to grow up to the maximum, and not understanding why!

alternately, show the lower of the two (food or PQ cap), and list them both in a tooltip?

Well, if the Max Pop counter would function as i suggested, it'd display 3.25 for a class 4 planet and (just to throw a number) say 200 for a class 26. I do not think it'd make someone confused about the current maximum population he can reach, for this number it'd be displayed under the voice "Food Production". On the contrary, the player would know if he is currently constructing too much or too few fams.
Knowing all this number has importance. For instance, conquering an enemy planet requires often a large number of troops if you desire to maintain unaltered its quality and/or buildings. And even if this is not your goal, the enemy may get the chance to invade it back, so having a great number of abitants on a newly conquered planets is anyway a factor. Now, to obtain all the troops needed for your invasion plans requires that you have quite a number of planet with a very high population. If you know beforehand what planets can reach very high level of population, you can accordingly decide your colonizing strategy.

About the tiles question. Yes, I know I can adjust the structures builded, changing one in another, but to me it is a waste of time and money (and both things have the nasty inclination to advantage your opponents). Besides, not all the structures can be changed. But I recognize that my request is not so valuable if you do not tend to specialize every planet
