Is there any way, any way at all to chang the language, or get a hold of the language files? My friend gave me his copy (he didn't like it, the fool), but it is in German. Anything I can do?

If you have a legal version you should be able to dl the english ver from sdc. (I guess)

as far as I remember you can choose what language you want during the installation. if not...

galciv2 is even with the localization an english game, using its english tokens and using just localized descriptive text using the same values. so just copy anything thats in your "english" folder into your "german" folder and there you go, anything will be english.

btw the german version is still somehow buggy, there are some functions that turn in "string not found" except for doing what I wish. ie during "retire"

I also didn't know any english until I bought this game. People just don't realize how educative playing computer games can be.

Just be careful don't learn to speak german like a Drengin!

well his friend didnt like it, and gave it to him, so technically his friend bought it and wont play it anymore, i guess its kinda sorta a legal copy? at least he didnt pirate it.

Do you mean that the copy is legal, but as a gift, it's illegal?
