Races in RaceConfig.xml are not equivalent (in ability points)

Some races have innate bonus

I was doing some analysis on the race config file and notice several issues in it.
1. This is minor I think. Korx, Thalan, Icononin do not have a morale entry
2. The Minor race Akilians have several extra abilities, all other minors are equivalent (at zero and 4 logistics)
3. Some races gain innate bonuses, this occurs when the ability amount is not an amount that is defined in AbilityBonus.xml
(Logisitcs + is based on most minor races at 4)
Terrans:Trade +25, Diplomacy+25,Logistics+2
Drengin:Morale+25,Logistics+3
Altarian:Luck+30,Courage_30,Logistics+1
Arcean:Logistics+3
Torian:Morale+25,Luck+10,Courage+20,Logistics+2
Yor:Loyalty +100,Miniaturization+25,Logistics+4
Korx:Economy+15,trade+25,Courage+10,Logistics+2
Drath:Defense+50,Military Production+25,Espionage+50,Diplomacy+25,Logistics+2
Thalan:Loyalty+40,Miniaturization+10,Logistics+2
Iconian:Logistics+3
Custom:Soldier+25,Loyalty+20,Logistics+2

Akilians:Weapons+25,Defense+25,Social Prod+10,Military Prod +30,Soldier+25,Loyalty+10,Logistics+4

When approximating Ability point equivalents, since most of these can be converted into ability points some of the races have significant advantages. From these rough calcuations it would seem that the drath should be the strongest and the arcean and iconian the weakest.

Just noticed something else in AbilityBonus.xml. There are two loyalty entries but availableoptions is set to 1 in this. However setting this to 2 currently might break the use of the custom race

Isn't it grand?! Also, plenty of races have additional techs that are worth well above the 1-200 tech points you get playing as a custom race. I read elsewhere that the Drath and Yor have upwards of 650 points worth of bonus tech. Makes you wonder, huh? But I've also read that the dev's may have included factors not readable in the xml file, such as innate opinions towards other alien species and the like. But basically all this means is use the Drath as you would a custom race. It's just that much better. HAHA ROFLCOPTER.

I have posted about this before. And yes, it breaks the custom race to repair it, so I'm not really bothered anymore, it's a minor thing.

The Yor have a BIG diplomacy hit to all races because they are the Yor. But the Drath, especially with 1.2, are the strongest race hands down.

The drath are powerful, but some of the bonuses are pretty worthless like the Espionage and defense which pre 1.2 was considered not so useful.

The numbers alone don't tell the full story because of that.

The Altarian have pretty worthless Luck and Courage bonuses. Loyalty seems not so useful to me also.

The worse seems to be Arcean and the Icionian, just looking at the bonues alone, there is no reason what so ever to choose them compared to choosing the Yor (better logistic ability , extra miniturization, loyalty bonus) or the Dregin (same logistic bonus, extra morale bonus).

Of course, the Yor and Dregin seem to be the most hated races. and there are some differences in tech etc.

The Iconian start with a class 14 world compared to the usual class 10 for most races, so the Iconians do have some advantages. Imagine customising Iconians with Planet quality bonus!

I'm still trying to figure out min max reasons for starting with Arcean as a mod. It's not as if their starting techs are anything to write home about (No ion drives unlike the Yor).

If there is any weakest race to customise with, it should be the Arcean.

All things being not equal the best advantage a racial trait can be is the population trait. Especially in the start of the game, helps additionally in the invasion arena also. More folks more taxes.

The Thalen probably excel in this area, PQ 15 planet with 20% population breeding bonus. Probably one of my more used customized races besides the Pryde.

The Thalans don't have any build in population growth?? Or do you mean the effects of the larger homeworld?
