How are trade products used?

We have the ability to deveop trade products such as Aphrodesiacs etc. What are the trade pruducts used for and how are they used?

The give your race ad\vantages when you build them.

Also you can trade them on the tradee screen techs, money and ships and things from the other civilizations.

Often their advantage is so great you don't want to trade them or becaause they cannot be retraded you want to be careful who you give them to.

Nah, When you trade a variety of goods to an alien race, You still keep the bonuses, But the other guys also get the bonuses as well.
