Problem with update

I just downloaded the V11 and the game asked me for an CD key. I entered the CD key but now it says the cd key is not associated with my e-mail address. I never entered any e-mail address?

Where do I have to enter the E-Mail address?

Oh sorry I wanted to say that I bought the game in a shop so I have a cd but did not dowlnload it if that makes any difference (?)

Maybe you bought a copy that was returned tot he store and the previous owner had already registered the game? I'd contact Stardock support, or simply return the game for another copy.
