Breaking Alliances

Well, I've been playing GalCiv II way too much but I've encountered a new problem for the first time. Playing good and avoiding my usual oppressive ways, I made good with a couple of minor civilizations and formed alliances with them. Silly me--they're useless, and now I need their 15-quality planets. But when I attack, I'm told the alliance gets in the way. How the heck do I cancel said alliance? (In a similar vein, how do I spy on minor races--not that I can see any point in doing so.)

Minor races don't have as much diplomacy. No espionage, no cancelled alliances. Just set the Drengin on them, and refuse to help.

I would like to see a Break Alliance feature with Minor Races as well.

Keep up the good work Stardock!

if you use a trade embargo on them i believe it breaks the alliance as well there are other posts that may have more though

The trade embargo check box on the minor race screen will not let you check it when you are allied to a minor race.

I am frustrated by this omission as well. I would very much like to be able to break alliances with minor races. Now that I have learned the hard way that I can't, I won't ever form an alliance with one again.
