Placing starbases

The constructor needs to have a more visible circle of influence. It is very hard to see the circle of the darker colors against the black background. Maybe add a border to the outer edge of the circle or reduce the transparency to 75% or so, so the circle can be seen before building the starbase in the wrong location. Another option would be to confim the starbase AFTER you have seen the results.

In short, we need to be able to see the influence cirle of the constructor before building/accepting the starbase.

I find it's generally OK to see the effective area of a constructor.... except if you use black... but if you use that you can't see many things on the map... including your influence!

Or... perhaps something like having the affected planets "highlight" when they are in the constructors service radius. That way you know for sure what is in and what isn't.

That would be cool.

Yeah, since its hard to know if that planet is within the starbases influence when its half inside, half outside the circle.

Had to build a second starbase so my main research planet could benefit because of this

You can modify the color in the racial traits area btw. As I use a burnt-orange for the Pryde I generally don't have a problem.

I agree. Why not have the constructor highlight just like the starbase itself does. I never have a problem with that. In fact, the circle created by the contructor is slightly smaller than the one by the starbase so you also have to be careful there.

Think it was in some of the Journals, but I read this will be changed with 1.2, so starbases will take effect on every tile their circle touches ...

Do you mean individual planet tiles on the surface? If so, how will you know that?

All planet tiles are affected because the whole planets are affected, which should be obvious.

They're changing the rounding system so that all planets on the edge of the starbases influence get the boost too.

No, sorry. Just "tiles" on the galaxy map ...
