Choppy sound

I just installed a retail copy of the game. The sound with the videos is very choppy. The videos run fine.
I don't have a disk in the computer because I'm not sure which disk to put in., 1 or 2.
Would having a disk in help? If so which one?
Any other ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks,
Marty

If your having issues with the tutorial video, make sure to update to 1.0x, which has a "fullscreen" button that will fix this issue. Also, make sure youre playing fullscreen...I've seen weird slowdown in windowed mode from time to time.

It appears to happen to all videos, even the intro. What is odd is the video itself runs great, no choppiness or anything.
I have update 1.1 installed. I think it's set for full screen. I'm at work so I'll check when I get home.

Ya, the sound goes all choppy on mine too, more so during the intro song while loading a save game, especially during heavy hd usage. The Fat Lady can hold a note very long that way, lol. The first half minute or so of going through the game setup screens has choppy sound also, though not as bad or for as long.
It seems anytime the CPU gets really loaded down or there is a lot of hd activity the sound gets really choppy.

Hey, BoogieBack, how does GC2 deal with the sound files, anyway? Will it still work if I convert them to uncompressed .WAV files, or do they have to be MP3?
Or, would it help to simply put a particular audio codec as #1 priority? I know this had an effect in some video editing applications over the years.
