Graphics problem

Graphics problem

Hi,

I recently started playing this game and i have a graphics problem. The planets are gone and the ship graphics are like they were in the 80's .

I have Direct X 9.0c and my graphics card is NVIDEA 6200 128MB. My screen resolution is at 1800x1024 and color is 32 bits.
Below is a screenshot of the problem.

Please help me! And thank you in advance!

how old is your graphics card?

also post that debug thing from the debug.err file or something.

yes that would help so much... looks like a driver problem

My graphics card is about a year old and should be able to play this game perfectly.

Btw, in C:\Documents and Settings\Beheerder\Mijn documenten\My Games\GalCiv2\ all folders are empty.

This is the debug.err file:

Try updating your video drivers, they're not as old as some of the ones people post problems with, but they are over a year old and could very well be causing the issue.

I believe that's not the problem ... i believe the problem is that i don't have those files in my My Documents folder.
I'll try to re-install the game.
yea its diffently due to out dated drivers, update them just to fix a possible problem

And they r suppose to be empty at first, they r for moddin the game and to save your custom ships

Hi BoErE,

ignore all those who say that it will be fixed by updating your drivers, the problem is a complete other one.
This doesn't mean you shouldn't update the game and the drivers, but it won't fix this annoying bug.

https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=274&AID=101707#866919

the important quote:
The problem itself seems to be not the language-selection, but the numeric format.
English notation is: 1,000.00
German notation is: 1.000,00
You can change this seperately in the language-setup in windows (it's called "Zahlen" in German Windows) try to change these settings (even with having selected German as language.

You really need to update all of your drivers, get Service Pack 2 for XP on there, and update the game to version 1.11.
Everything is out of date, not just the video drivers.
And you are running a resolution of 1280x1024, not 1800x1024, by the way.

And the only files the game will install into your My Docs\Games\GalCiv2 folder by default are the Prefs.ini file and several empty folders. All of your saved games will go there, and your custom ships. But reinstalling will not add more files there. They are all located in the main game folders.

Good catch on the language, WarEagle.

I have the same problem. I have a Radeon 9800 on a NVidia NForce2. All drivers are up to date, i'm using Win2kpro SP4 and the latest Game Version. This is obviously not a driver problem, at least not immediately. I just bought the game, it's really annoying.

Yes Michael, it's not a driverproblem, it's a non-english-windows-settings-problem.
