Facts on Custom races

well, I know that you can do something with the xml, but I only have the demo atm and don't know whats in the files for custom race. so I don't know if you can do something as advanced like that.

You don't have to edit the xml files to do this it is in the screan were you chose your opponets and there settings..

The techs and ability bonuses are separate. You can customize the techs and bonuses in the CurrentCustomRace10.raceconfig file in the My Docs\Games\GalCiv2 folder.
(Hint: Don't give yourself Xeno Ethics in the techs, because then you will never be able to set your alignment.)

And you can set the friendship/hatred factor during the game setup no matter which race you are playing.

i don't know about setting it up at game start however a factions standing towards you at the end of your last game as that race carries over to the next one and is that "Historical friendship/hatred" thing.. at least it used to...

cool so if im not friendly with someone and declare war they historicaly hate me the next game? if so wouldnt it depend on which races you play against?

No, it depends on how you set it up at the beginning of the game, not how you play the game or their attitude towards you at the end of the game.

you guys are misunderstanding my question. i understand you can set them hostile or friendly and stuff like that but i mean historic hatred where its hard to make an alliance or peace like the humans and the drengin

That is a story line. It is in the script, so to speak. It is not coded in as far as I know.

It is the imagination factor at work.

im mean for a custom race with hatred towards someone else i was useing dremgin and humans as an example!!!!!!!!
