Cheesy campaign win

A programming bug?

I just completed the second mission (Ixith) with the same strategy, which exposes a bug making these missions all too easy. My strategy was to quickly build two 1 attack, 1 HP fast ships in order to knock out any Drengin colony ships and constructors before they could get off the ground. This succeeded eminently. The problem was that the Drengin kept building 0 0 0/0 0 0 phantom ships that were easily knocked off as they were built. I never had to build another attack ship the whole game. I suggest Frogboy, that you look at the conditions under which these phantom ships are built by the AI and make a correction. The Drengin had plenty of military techs. I don’t know what to do now. I don’t want to win this way and yet I believe my strategy is the right one even if Drengin can build real ships. But I can’t really try it out under normal game conditions. Kind of ruins the campaign for me.

They eventually do get woked up, in some scenarios, and start building real ships. It can be even challenging on higher difficulties.

But, don't worry, when DL arrive these will be very tough missions.

Still, this is something that needs to be tweaked for next patch.

P.S.
And personally, I find whole strategy of having no weapon ships preventing invasions cheesy.
And making from it official AI strategy, instead removing it, even cheesier.

Heh, I just posted a whole thread about the same problem Link. p22 was there, too. I'd say don't use the tactic on the next two missions if you want to have any fun, but the one after that you may be able to, all the enemies start pretty far away.
