"Anything that increases your approval" tile....

What is the best tech to put in this bonus tile?

There is a bonus tile that enables you to build a tech in order to receive a 100-300% bonus if you build something that will increase your approval. Now, it doesn't say "influence," nor does it say "happiness of your colonists, per say." Am I just being too concrete here in my thinking? This has always confused me. Don't answer the part about my cognitive ability, just the answer to the question kind people..... I don't know whether to build frictionless clothing, an embassy, a cultural exchange center, or a McDonald's (Bob Evans for the older crowd). Helo

Best thing to put on a bonus tile depends on which bonus it is... on a manufacturing bonus tile you should always build factories (though building one on a 700% tile early game is not advised) morale should also always be used, as should research as often as possible. Food bonusus are plenty, and a real pitfall, since your pop. will outgrow morale very quickly, so try not to build too many farms on food tiles, 1 farm on a food tile is usually enough.
Hope this helped,

sorry, I think I answered the wrong question.... well at least I answered it fully ....
To answer the approval question, best to build evey approval wonder in the game, (though on different planets) forget embasies and cultural exchange centres.... if you can find a mcdonalds in the game, I'd put it in there, but if you do please let me know, I'd love a good Galactic Hamburger!

Well, I'm pretty sure that "approval", "morale", and "happiness" all mean the exact same thing. Which I think is confusing, they need to all be called by only one name instead of three different names. But the game uses all three words that basically are the exact same thing.

As for your question, that tile only gives a bonus for morale-improving buildings like a zero-g sports arena, entertainment center, etc. Not for influence buildings like embassy. Also, it does not affect galactic acheivements or trade goods like frictionless clothing.

Hope that helps!

Unfortunately, the game doesn't name upgrade buildings for influence or approval/morale/happiness very well. It's better with Farming and Factories (for the most part).

If you're confused as to which building does what, select it and look in the box at the bottom of the screen.

If the tile has an icon of a little water drop or whatever that's supposed to be, you want to put one of the happiness creating centers (entertainment center or whatever your tech level equivalent is). If the tile has a little Classical Greek looking column, you want to put an embassy.

I always build a factory on a manufacturing bonus and always build a lab on a research bonus. If the planet is nice i'll build a farm on a food tile but if its class 7 or something its not worth it. Same with approval if the planet is low class I dont bother. Culture I never use but then I play large and above galaxies almost exclusively so I always have tons of planets anyway. In a small galaxy I can see how they would be useful if you didnt want to use a culture starbase
