Game crashes when the "disgruntled employee kills alien leader" event happens

When I get the "disgruntled employee kills alien leader" event, when I click on the DONE button the game totally crashes. It happens over 75% of the times this event happens (sometime it works)...
Anyone else got this bug?

System Specs: I am running a Dell Latitude D505 1.6Ghz laptop. Everything inside is as supplied by Dell.

Yes, this happened to me a couple of days ago exactly as described.

Massive disc access after clicking DONE and then a crash to desktop.

Please post your debug.err file. That may help us to see why it crashed. This file is located in the same folder as galciv2.exe ( usually c:\program files\stardock\totalgaming\galciv2 ) Thank you.

Hopefully it will still be there, as I don't think I've had a crash since then. (at work at the moment, will upload the file later today)
