Colony Tax Rate

I would like to have the ability to manually override taxation at the colony level. This would allow the development of economic powerhouses whose approval might not suffer as much from a higher taxation.

Thank you, ejmh

I would like this too, a little fiscal paradise...Cayman planet
sometimes a lesser quality planet simply doesn't have free tiles for morale boosting improvements and bigger planets have a very bigger population than the average planets have.

On the other hands this should not unbalance the whole "morale vs taxation" thing so I rather keep whatever the Stardock people think to be more appropiate

If this was implemented, I'd suggest a corresponding drop in morale on other planets for 'unfair taxation policies'.

I like the OP's idea. It would be much easier than changing the whole empire's tax rates to grow your new aquisitions.

I think the universal ramifications of your tax policy are good the way they are. It makes the player more aware of each and every planet's needs. As in real life, your tax policies are not going to cater to everyone.

Hmmm. I'm not averse to plenty of micromanagement, but i know that out there, in their teeming thousands will likely want to bludgeon you for the profanity of your Idea....

I like it though, It would make more sense once you reach at least star democracy, because it states that planets are getting increasingly more autonomous etc etc.

Damn so much to say, but i'm getting kicked off the computer...Godamn housesharing sucks!

I would like this very much, and had thought about the exact same feature too. When you have a high tax rate, and morale buildings on developed worlds, it's a bit messy when i colonize new planets, because they have a very low morale as long as the basic buildings are being made. Same goes for planets that are too small for morale buildings.

And no, I don't think this should affect any other colonies. Think of it as tax cuts for the brave settlers who live in barren worlds without joys like entertainment centers.
