Suggestion: One For the Record Books

I don't know if this has been suggested before, but it would bring a little more life to the game, IMO.

GC2 needs a Guiness Book Of Galactic Records:
First Medium size ship built, Large, Huge, etc.
Fastest ship.
Biggest freighter, etc.
Best planet.

I know some of this is already available, but it would be nice to see it showcased a little more.

Good idea or not?

A good idea in my opinion.
I'd like to suggest a local highscore list for all scores (be it a metaverse game or not, modded or not) that you achieved as well.

Good idea! = Maybe there could even be minor benefits attatched to being the first to do something, like the speed bonus you get for being the first to circumnavigate the globe in Civ IV.

Sounds good.

Sacred had something like that I think, loved the number of kills I had racked up, hardest opponent I had defeated etc.....

I was going to write about something similiar - quarterly reports. Now they are useless, they should have all the game rankings ( in tabs or smth) and records can be fitted there too. Also when the ai will actualy try to win the game in any other way the the querterly report should have the info on every single race, now it gives a random ai "path to victory" in a random time - USELESS

Yes, so long as this is on your local PC it would be cool. If it were online their would be too many ties for the records as the game limits certain things.

I forgot to mention it in my post, but I thought influence bonuses should be given for each record.

I can picture the fastest ship now, a huge hull with 20 hyperwarp engines and nothing else. I think it would be really cool. Take a snapshot and put it in the record books. Fastest Ship: The Human ship, "Speed Demon", coming in at 40 parsecs/week.

The largest cruise ship ever built was in the news recently, it would also be cool to build luxury cruise ships in galciv2, and have an economic victory.
