Who watch Batlestar Galactica on TV?

It do not play here, there is sometimes a french-traducted (Québec) episode who play but no more, it's not even on a regular basis

Um, the show is a great show, no question, but if there's one thing it doesn't do well, it's space battles.

Outside of the "shakey-cam" nonsense that's been going around TV and movies like the Black Death of Cinematography (please stop this!!!!), BSG's space battles tend to be rather dull. The fighter battles are sometimes intersting, but the large-scale capital ship battles are pretty dull. The direction never really gives a sense of tactics, and since you only really have one or two BattleStars vs. 1-4 BaseStars, there isn't much possibility for tactics. You just have two sides shooting at each other. But the direction doesn't even effectively work with what's there.

And, for all the reasonability of projectile and missile weaponry in space, it just isn't as fun to see on the screen as a nice Shadow-style cutting beam rending a ship stem-to-stern. The openning space battle of Episode III was more entertaining than any space encounter in BSG.

In terms of space battles, Babylon 5 pretty much owns all. Followed by Deep Space 9.

i dont mind the shaky cam at all
i just dont like that "low tech" sci fi scenario of bsg, but they compensate with a great story
(the new baltar is imho the best sci fi character ever created)

I actually really don't like the new Fate/ destany thing they have going on in that show. But it is a good show none the less.

The best SciFi series at the moment, since there are none that can compete against it, imho.

Stargate is adequate with mediocre sfx. Evil empire with huge spaceships gets a beating from puny hugh-mans time after time. Yeah, right. *snore*

Firefly, it's a shame this brilliant series was canceled by Fox, aired it in the wrong order too, they tend to axe good series like Futurama and Family Guy (which got another chance when the dvd-$ale$ $kyrocketed). I guess the story and attitude in the series was much too anti-government for the network's conservative taste. Jos Whedon took that risk and lost. Hopefully Universal can give it another try, after buying the tv-series rights from evil Fox.

(Star Trek) Enterprise wasn't good enough for most fans and Manny Coto was hired writing the series when it was too late to pull back the fans and save the series.

The 4400 is absolutely not my kind of scifi.

I dont like BSG. An other Season of Firefly would have been better.

babylon5 owns.Shame they didnt make the shadow war better/longer.Season5 was a bit of a let down so be hoping for better movies (if they make them than the ledgend of the rangers which was an insult to all cast and crew alike).Never watched firefly.donty know if it was released in the uk.Stargate is the longest runing sci fi series ever so they must be doing something rite.Stargate atlantis is really good.Hope to see many more series of both

Woah! Like this many watch it! I watch it in Finland (I'm from Finland) and it is on season one last periold: "Gobol Last Gleaming, Part 2". I dosent speak good english, because I speak finnish. Galactica on paras!=Galactica is the best! Hihii!
