Random Event Glitch

Or: "Excuse me, madam president, but your butt is the size of a rhino"

Alright, so, I'm playing last night. I'm humans, the korx have always been somewhere between cool and hostile with me, although we've never declared war on each other. My espionage is as high as it can go with them (with every race, for that matter).

The problem: a random event occurs, where a diplomat of mine is having dinner with the Korx leaders and insults one of them. They declare war because of this. The last line in the event's description is "Critics of the administration point out that if you had spent more money on espionage, you would know enough about their culture to not have done that".

Anyway, just seems like a glitchy description more than anything else, I guess.

sounds more like a joke to me than a glitch, the game is full of various jokes and puns. Although the description does seem to be typoed or something.

or maybe its meant to be like that and be funny...

its meant to be that way, yes while you spent money on espionage, that doesnt mean you know the subtleties of their culture, so you can still make a dumb mistake and screw up, that comment at the end of the event, isnt serious, that if you did, that wouldnt have happened, it just means that, your people screwed up and its too late now.

Isn't the note you get when you achieve Advanced level espionage on a race something like: "We now know more about the inner workings of this race than their emperor himself does."?
